Since past times one of the most common kinds of entertainment at home were games such as dominoes, board games, painting and active games like “hy-spy”. But with course of time new kind of entertainment was created. And it left behind the best expectations. It permitted to make unbelievable things which you have never dreamt to do. This kind of entertainment is called video game console.
It took a lot of time and forces to create first game console. Of course it differed a lot from modern devices, but at then time it was considered as technological masterpiece. The console has two simple controllers and usually cartridge which contained the game itself.
With technological development game consoles were advanced and improved and today we have real works of electronic art. Such devices as wireless controllers, guns or wheels are usual for modern people. It is even possible to play games online and communicate with other gamers.
The most important companies in the sphere of video games are Microsoft and Sony. But there is also one company which mostly specializes in home entertainment facilities. According to general opinion, people thought that Nintendo had already passed its best times and there is no hope for miracle. But it was wrong opinion, because Nintendo creates really extraordinary game console which is called Wii. And it conquered attention and sympathy of many consumers. During the creation of this game console, its designers focused a lot on actualization and visualization. When it became obvious that Wii gained big popularity, many companies began to design various accessories for Wii. It is planned that Wii will have such additional components as boxing gloves, steering wheels, set for golf, tennis rackets etc.
Nintendo with Wii marked the beginning of new period of video games.
