So, your box of new color business card printing job has arrived fresh off the presses. Everything looks great! All your information and your logo look sharp and you are ready to start handing the cards out to customers. In an increasingly digital world characterized by e-mail and voice mail, consider personalizing your communications with your business card. Here are just a few ideas for using business card printing to add that personal touch:

1. Mailers – Drop your custom business card in mailers as a way to give customers a direct contact. This is easy enough to do and also provides the customer with an easy way to keep track of your contact information.

2. Sales presentations – Many companies have fliers or booklets for sales presentations. Always take the time to put your own business card in the presentation. This is especially true if you will not be able to make an actual presentation and can only leave information with a customer.

3. Handouts – Of course, always keep at least a few business cards on you so you can hand them to new contacts you may make.

4. Leave a note – Put a note on the back of your business card when you are leaving it for a customer. This is a good way to connect with customers as fewer and fewer handwritten notes are used for correspondence.

5. Bulletin boards – When appropriate, leave your color business cards on company and public bulletin boards. You never know who may stumble across your card and give you a call.

6. Random placement – Start leaving your business cards in random places: on the table at a restaurant, in the restroom, at the countertop in small businesses, and don’t forget your local chamber of commerce.
