Why is cheap webhosting so cheap? What are you sacrificing in order to get a lower price? Almost all cheap web hosting options are shared webhosting options. This means, with certainty, that you are sacrificing specific options in terms of reliability, security and speed.

Cheap, shared hosting packages are placed in large numbers on the same server. This means that when any of the other users does anything with their hosting that modifies the operation of your server such as running an incorrectly programmed CRON job that continues to pull resources away from the server, your site(s) will be effected by it. This could mean that your website(s) could be down for an unforseeable amount of time because of the ignorance of a single user. Cheap web hosting is an alright option if your plan is to host several small, text based content sites and slow loading or downtimes will not affect your plans. Just keep in mind that cheap, shared web hosting is not always comparable to affordable web hosting.
