Toronto, Ontario â€“ Alf Kwinter, founding partner of the Singer, Kwinter law firm, achieved a landmark $1.4 million verdict in his clientâ€™s motor vehicle accident case yesterday.

Kwinterâ€™s client, Don Clarke, had unknowingly suffered from a dislocated right shoulder as the result of a car accident. It took over a year to discover the injury, and by that time, there was serious and permanent damage to the nerves in his right shoulder, which severely limited his ability to work. Don made his living with his hands â€“ doing renovations, restoring automobiles, etc.

Clarke, 22, had also planned on building his own cottage on land he had recently purchased near Huntsville. Unfortunately, the damage to his shoulder is too severe and will only get worse as he gets older.

The month long trial came to a close yesterday, with a jury awarding a verdict of almost $1.4 million in damages and lost wages.
